1. Switching over from Survey Monkey servers to Novi survey servers.
2. Implementation of video based surveys.
3. Improvement of interface.
Also, speakasiaonline's server are in Japan which itself is sufferring from biggest tragedies.
You should not panic and keep your trust with the company.
Company is doing its best to keep in touch with its panellists and upgrading servers.
This week onwards, situation will improve.

I am addressing my fellow Speak Asians with a purpose to clear all misgivings about the surveys and related issues . I know that there has been a disruption in surveys , resulting in all kinds of fear and misgivings . To clear the clouds of doubts and anxiety , I wish to share the facts and exact situation as it is :
1. The surveys are given to us as questions in text format by respective clients .
2. These questions are then converted into proper questionnaire in a survey using application which is a 3rd party hosted service.
3. We were using one of the best hosted sites –Survey Monkey which had major market research companies as well as corporate across the globe as their clients. While this was a key point for their selection, this also made them more rigid and less open to changes required by our ever growing community of consumers .
4. Due to internal problems and lack of bandwidth to cope up with our 1 million strong panel base , survey monkey systems failed to deliver as per our requirement . Thus we had to move the application to another hosted service- Novi Survey which we found was more receptive and had a better platform .
5. This shift from one application to another was quite challenging as the platforms were different and integration with our back end system took much longer than expected.
6. We could not transfer the old surveys from Survey Monkey to Novi Survey due to application change causing major disruption in old surveys which were not filled up by some panelists .
I am happy to share that we have now over come most of the issues and the status is as follows :
a) We have bought the entire application at a premium price and are now hosting it on our own servers. Hence the ownership of the application is ours and we shall not be dependent on any external vendor for running of our system.
b) We have made the surveys current and are working towards clearing the backlog.
c) Panelists who did not complete the previous surveys are being given extra time to complete so that they do not lose out on their earnings.
d) To handle the slow response , we have done load balancing and made surveys available to panelists Zone wise .
I would like to appeal to all my fellow Speak Asians to help us in this transition. We are aware of the problems faced by you in the field and want to assure you that we are working extra hard to overcome the challenges. It will take another 10-15 days before the application for surveys will stabilize . So please bear with us for a little more time for a better future and spread this message of change amongst the fellow Speak Asians who are already 1 million strong and growing !

ReplyDeleteDo you know the cheapest advertisement on TV is on doordarshan and that too cost 5lakhs for 10 seconds at prime time. Take colgate, for example, how many time in a day they display their advertisement on doordarshan and on other TV channels.
It is crores of Rupees in a day!! And do you know what colgate is made up of - a very basic cheap ingredient - "salekhari" in hindi - of which talcum powder is made. Doctors even say that you don't need toothpaste to brush your teeth.
They are making whooping amount of profits and hence these big companies can take such surveys in market by paying that big amount.

When you become a premium panellist - you can take 9 subpanels on same.

ReplyDeleteAs has been advised by the company regarding opening of a personal savings account in Prime Bank the following is required to be done.
All the panelist have to open a personal savings account in Prime Bank branch nearest to them. You will have to furnish all the documents required by the bank for account opening.
Opening of the bank account is at the sole discretion of the bank.
We have come to know that after having received this information the panelists had approached the bank. However the Bank raised a strong objection to people having gone in large numbers. This has resulted into disruption of the operations of the bank.
All the panelists are requested to understand that this facility has been arranged as an effort to smoothen the remittances for Bangladesh Panelists. If we do not cooperate with the bank, the situation will again become difficult to manage.
Hence you should decide amongst your team members to reach the bank in a phased manner in small groups with all the required documents so that it is convenient for bank.

Friends ,we are in the process of upgrading our server. This may take a little more time than normal due to complexity involved resulting in delays in uploading the surveys. For a better future we request you to kindly bear with us today.
The surveys of previous Wednesday (16 Mar 2011) have already been uploaded on the site on 22 Mar 2011. As already shared , this delay happened as we have upgraded our survey application to a better and advanced one. Though our technical team had uploaded the surveys yesterday, the integration did not take place in the desired manner making it difficult and time consuming to fill in the surveys. Many Panelsists managed to fill in the surveys but some were left out due to traffic congestion .
As already shared ,the surveys for current week (23 Mar 2011) shall be uploaded zone wise starting on 26th March (Saturday). The zones have been categorized in 5 different zones as below:

There may be some panellists who did not complete the previous 3 weeks surveys ( 23rd February , 2nd March , 9th March ). We shall be giving them adequate time of 2 weeks for completing the surveys after uploading them again on site in next 10 days.
The above measures will further ensure smooth functioning of the website in future.
